Frederick W. Hong Law Offices was founded in 1977 in Los Angeles by its founder and principal, Frederick W. Hong, Attorney. It started as a community law firm serving Chinese immigrant communities in the Greater Los Angeles area.

The Firm soon involved itself with actively representing Asian Pacific clients from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia in their business, investments and immigration matters in the U.S.

After the normalization of relations between the U.S. and PR China in 1979, Frederick W. Hong Law Offices became very actively engaged in innumerable business, economic, cultural and legal exchanges and dealings between the U.S. and China.

In September, 1993, Frederick W. Hong Law Offices was granted one of the first licenses approved by the Ministry of Justice in China to foreign law firms in establishing a branch office in China. Frederick W. Hong Law Offices opened its Guangzhou Representative Office in October, 1993. In 2002, Frederick W. Hong Law Offices received another approval from the Ministry of Justice PRC and opened its second representative office in Beijing in January, 2003.
